The clocks have changed giving us the
lighter evenings, thus presenting us with our first chance this year to
use the scenic Cowgrove time trial route. For some of our runners it was
their first time out on this course, Laura Harvey and Teresa Grist were
recording their first ever time trials. We also saw a new time trial
winner, well done to Paul Teck who ‘found’ two minutes as he makes
excellent progress after coming back from a long lay-off.
Unfortunately your timekeeper/handicap
calculator didn’t have too good a day, because in theory the runner who
has made the biggest time improvement should cross the line first. This
in fact was Laura Booker (gained 3.5 minutes), an excellent performance,
and the other big improver whose handicap was badly out was Celia
Ireland (gained 2.5 minutes), a reward for all that hard work she has
been putting in on both Tuesday and Thursday sessions.
Well done to all who took part, and
thank you to those other runners who do not appear on the time sheets
who acted as guide/pace runners.
