Winter Time Trial – 1 December 2011
Ryan Walbridge smashes course
record.
On a
wet and miserable night, the winter time trial course record (set the
previous month) was torn up by Ryan Walbridge at the first attempt.
Ryan’s excellent performance saw only one other runner finish within two
minutes of his time. This time around the course record may stick for a
little while as, over the inclines of Oakley Hill and Merley Ways he has
laid down a significant marker.
Ryan’s wasn’t the only WAC time trial debut – Adam
Kamari, Rhiannon Scutt and Steph Katz all ran in their first time trials
too. There were no recorded times over the course to base handicaps on
for the first five runners home, so the first finisher to come in on a
calculated (rather than estimated) handicap was Julie Mead who, as a
result, took the trophy this month.
The fastest women’s time was recorded by Georgie
Hougham. Kelly Williams piloted debutant Steph Katz around an unfamiliar
course.
