December 2009 Willett Arms 4 mile Time Trial
Fresh from a half-marathon PB, Kelly
races to a time trial win.
Another good turnout for the time
trial. Kelly Williams had claimed a PB over half-marathon distance at
Downton the previous weekend and come the time trial made a time gain of
more than three minutes over the four mile route her first time trial
win. The weather was a little nippy but it was a still night conducive
to some fast times. The fastest runner was Callum Kennedy and there good
times also from Iain Donnelly, David Long, Graham Whiffen and Andy
Porter. We had two time trial debutants Tom Mallett and John Pickup.
Of the remaining 28 runners 18 of us were able to improve on our
previous times. Of the improvers there were particularly strong runs
from Carol Howe, Roy Long and Phil Whitehurst. For the second month in a
row Annie Dougall recorded the fastest ladys time, and she improved by
almost a minute.
Our timekeepers/recorders on the night
were Jeff Hinsley, Clalre Newby and Nicki Roe. Full results for the time
