February 2010 – Willett Arms 4 mile Time Trial

With the late running of the time trial in January, February’s event seemed to come around very quickly. This was the final time trial from QE, we will be using a slightly different route in March before heading off into the Cowgrove direction once the lighter evenings are with us from April onwards. Despite a decent sized group heading off to do some miles towards their marathon training, we still had good numbers up for the four mile blast to the Willett Arms.

First across the line was Paul Waite, well done Paul on your first win. The quickest runner out there was David Long with a time of 24:34, a PB. Andy McDonald of Reading AC has been a regular at WAC training sessions over the past month, he also recorded a fast time (25:00) and will surely go quicker once he gets to learn his way around Wimborne. Andy was not the only time trial debutant, Debs Luck clocked a very respectable time for a first run. Any time gains of more than a minute are notable achievements, so well done to Debbie King who found 1:50. This is despite the fact she has spent the last 10 days nursing a problem knee.
