The most northerly Parkrun in the world – 31st August 2013

Sam Davies reports from the Inverness Parkrun

It was a chilly morning, we were at the end of our summer holiday, staying 20 miles north of Inverness. Mum and Dad thought it would be a good idea to do the Parkrun in Inverness the morning of our flight home! We parked at the venue and found the atmosphere very welcoming especially when the local people found out we were from Dorset representing Wimborne!!

It was freezing cold on the course as the wind blew straight off Loch Ness. Despite having no porridge for breakfast Charlie got a PB of 24.18 and I got one of 22.15. We spoke to one of the organizers saying we were pleased to be doing the most northerly park run in the country to which he replied, ‘Strictly speaking, its the most northerly park run in the world!’
