May 2010 – Cowgrove 3.8 miles Time Trial
Road to recovery, great progress from
Robin Hughes.
This month’s time trail was run in
pretty good conditions and this is reflected in more than half the field
improving on their times. After a rough couple of months it was
brilliant to see Robin Hughes making huge strides towards his old form,
very timely with the Ridgeway coming up in a couple of weeks.
Of our recent marathon runners, Debbie
King deserves a special mention. She has not had much of a break since
London just 11 days previously, she was also a member of one of our
relay teams in the North Dorset marathon just 4 days earlier – so in
those circumstances a time trial PB was a great performance.
Ian Buckingham looks to be back, firing
on all six, having gained almost two minutes since his last time trial.
Bob Caines’ time was his fastest for some time, although of course Bob
often sacrifices his own time when piloting around some of our newer
runners.
The quickest runners out there, both
registering times in the 23s were Andy McDonald and Roy Long. Andy is
running with great consistency, his was time was two seconds quicker
than last time out and Roy is working hard to close the gap. It’s going
to be a great tussle in the coming months. Tom Wilson-Croome is making
good progress too, and his high speed sprint over the last 50 metres
suggests plenty more to come.
Our timekeepers did a great job, thank
you all for your help. Full results for the time trial were:
