One Mile Time Trial – 23 August 2007

We had an excellent turnout for the 1 mile time trial held at QE on the grass 400m track. The field included a wide range of ages and experience. First man home was Daryl Davies, but it wasn’t until the final lap before he was able to finally reel in 14 year-old Ross Kirkpatrick. For the girls there was a terrific performance from 11 year-old Sharon Hutchings and she had Alex Vaughan-Johncey not far behind for much of the distance. These were probably the pick of a number of excellent efforts on the day.  Once the track is re-established next year we will be able to measure the progress we will have made. Full times for the mile were:

Daryl Davies  – 5:48

Ross Kirkpatrick – 5:52

Peter Wood – 5:53

Dave Pearson – 5:56

Anthony Clark – 5:59

Jeff Hinsley – 6:14

The junior relay team – 6:16

Robin Hughes – 6:25

Piers Copeland – 6:32

Sharon Hutchings – 6:40

Alex Vaughan-Johncey – 6:49

Emily Deacon-Elliott – 7:02

Callum Kennedy – 7:08

Adam Collins – 7:09

Maddy Vaughan-Johncey – 7:14

Jerry Hutchings – 7:15

Callum Norman – 7:24

Josh Defeu – 7:36

Glyn Davies – 7:38

James Hughes – 7:52

Fiona Kirkpatrick – 7:55

James Humphries – 7:55

Alan Kirkpatrick – 8:01

Harry Cook – 8:02

Matt Fall – 8:03

Alfie Beddow – 8:04

Annmarie Pearson – 8:24

Catherine Vaughan-Johncey – 9:19

Tom Walker – 9:55

Harry Hughes – 10:51

Having recorded our mile time we then organised a 4x400 relay. The results for these were:

5:01 – Anthony Clark/Alex Vaughan-Johncey/Adam Collins/Daryl Davies

5:03 – Jeff Hinsley/Emily Deacon-Elliott/Maddy Vaughan-Johncey/Ross Kirkpatrick

5:25 – Sharon Hutchings/Fiona Kirkpatrick/Dave Pearson/Callum Kennedy

In parallel with 4x400s above, a team made up of Harry Cook, Grace Copeland, Robin Hughes, Alan Kirkpatrick and Tom Walker ran 1600m (in 16x100m legs) in a time of 5:12.

Well done to all of you who took part.
