Wimborne AC Roadrunners include members with a wide range of age, experience and ability. We aim to provide a friendly and supportive environment to enable our runners to enjoy their running to the full and help them towards their own personal goals, whether competitive or simply to maintain a healthy level of fitness.

As well as road races, many of our roadrunners take part in endurance off-road and multi-terrain events and we also have a few triathletes in our ranks.

There are many social activities over the course of the year, including beach runs, barbecues and our annual Christmas party plus of course the monthly ‘good to talk’ post-run drink held on the first Thursday of each month.

We publish an extensive quarterly roadrunners’ newsletter.

On 21 November WAC Roadrunners will stage the annual ‘Wimborne 10’. This rural 10 mile road race is now in its twelfth year. More details of this event can found at   www.wimborne10.co.uk.

The road runners have two regular sessions:

On Thursdays  we meet at Wimborne Town Football Club at 6:30pm.  Usual distance 4-7 miles. Come along - give it a go, no session fee. On the first Thursday of the month we meet afterwards for a drink, have a chat and race entry forms get handed out! We generally follow a pattern throughout the Thursdays in the month. Week 1 – Time trial, then jacket potatoes and a drink; Week 2 – General Run; Week 3 – Speed Work; Week 4 – Hill session.

On Tuesdays from QE Leisure Centre at 6.30pm coach Ed Arnold takes a session aiming to put some speed into your endurance running, all ages and abilities are encouraged to come along. Session fee £2.

There are also groups meeting up on different days of the week.
