WAC does Sport Relief – 24 March
Fun in the sunshine at QE.
At the club’s open morning
on Saturday March 24th members dug in to their piggy banks in
aid of Sports Relief. On a fabulously sunny day members ran up to four
times round the outside of the artificial pitches at Queen Elizabeth’s
and put their contributions in to a bucket. Members raised £100 and half
the training fee was added to bring the total to £146.
The middle distance team
took the matter several steps further and tried to complete a circuit
with their shoe laces tied together. Despite coaching from Ian
(Kennedy) and Paul (Hine) distance runners struggled to put their best
feet forward at the right time and came close to collapsing in an
undignified, hysterical heap.
