U11s League underway, Victory at Lockyers – 21 May 2011

Peter Impett reports on a great day for our girls.

The first Dorset Under-11s League meeting based on Quadkids was held at Lockyers School on Saturday May 21^st. Wimborne’s girls lead the league table but unfortunately we only had one boy taking part.

Quadkids is based on performances over four events. Grace Copeland was second overall with 192 points and has obviously been practising with the howler. Her 600 metre time was 8 seconds faster than anyone else. Paloma Eden 165, Ellie Stark 155 and Becca May 153 made up the team score of 665.  Jessica Brown 133, Alex Daplyn 114 and Ria Collins 89 also competed.

Team scores for the girls were Wimborne AC 665, Poole Runners 514, Poole AC  442, and Bournemouth AC 374.

Jared Cole was our only competitor in the boys and scored 173 points. 

The boys’ team scores were: Bournemouth AC 783, Poole Runners 662, Poole AC 647, Wimborne AC 173.

The girls’ relay team were so fast that they beat the base line standard and the scoring system had to be adjusted to take account of their time.
