The 2013 Wimborne 10 Mile Race

We enjoyed near perfect running conditions for the 2013 edition of the Wimborne 10. In all there were 395 Wimborne 10 finishers.

The winner of the 16th staging of the race was Callum Kennedy of Wimborne AC clocking 56:52.

Callum becomes the first ever Wimborne AC runner to win the event. In second place was Peter Rowat in 58:07 and third place went to Anthony Clark of Poole Runners in 58:31. First lady was Lerryn Chaffey (Dorset Doddlers) in 66:25. She was hotly pursued by the Poole AC pair of Sarah Chaloner (66:33) and Louella O’Herlihy (66:43). Congratulations to Dorset Doddlers who took the men’s team prize, and Poole AC the winning ladies’ team.

We hope you enjoyed our race … and all those teas and cakes, and hope to see you again next year. A big thank you to our (more than 50) marshals and volunteers who pull together each year to make it all possible. The 2014 race will be both a Dorset Road Race League event and serve as the 10 mile Dorset County Championship race, so get your entries in early to avoid disappointment. See you again in November ...
