Wasps FOUND in
Portland
SportsHall
The second Dorset Indoor
Sportshall league match took place on Saturday 17th November
at the Osprey Leisure Centre in Portland.
TEAM REPORTS:
Sadly, in the under 13 boys
competition, we were unable to sustain our fine start to the league.
This time we were only able to field a team of 5 athletes and managed to
come 5th out of 6 teams. The Wasps are still in second place
in the league; however, with only one match to go and over 100 points
behind 1st place Poole AC it leaves us a lot of work to do to
try and win the league. Let’s get a good turnout in the final match on
15th December at Canford and see what we can achieve!
The under 13 girls were also
down on numbers from the first match, though they still managed to be
placed 5th out of 8 teams. Overall they remain 5th
but less than 40 points behind the team from Weymouth. A good turnout
and performances at Canford could pull the team up to 4th.
The under 15 girls only just
managed to field a complete team this time, and they had another titanic
battle against Dorchester Hurricanes, losing out by 8.5 points (305.5
to 297). Overall the girls are still 2nd in the league, and a
good turnout and strong performances in the final match could make for
an exciting finish to the league.
We had no representatives in
the under 15 boys competition.
