Report and times from
the Wimborne 10 time trial.
On what may well have been the hottest
evening of the summer so far, the 10 mile time trial represented a
significant challenge. Our 13 trialists were hugely grateful to those
WACers (Craig, David, Elaine and Kim) who had come along to set up a
water stage at the half-way point. Even with this opportunity to
rehydrate the conditions were very tough. Thanks also to timekeepers
Debbie and Teresa. Our times were as follows:

Jerry worked out the handicaps and as
well as Celia and Bev not being given a fair handicap, Jerry was also a
tad harsh on the middle pack as the last four to set off were the first
four in (excluding Ross who retired injured).
Even in these hot and humid conditions
there were some great performances, Jerry was first across the line and
he recorded the fastest actual time of the night too. It’s great to see
Robin Hughes recovering his form, and the two Andys and Rich had
particularly fine runs.
Once the run was over the splendid
weather was enjoyed en masse in the garden of The Vine where
those who were involved in the time trial were joined by WACers who had
been for steady runs on the night. The Vine was packed and entertainment
was provided by some local morris men.
