In the aftermath of the weekend’s races across the world. The IAAF (International Association of Athletics Association) world rankings have been updated.
Grace Copeland of Wimborne AC recorded 33:54 on her chip at Brighton and 33:55 on her official race time in the 10k on 14 April. The new listings show her currently No. 1 in the world for the under-20 women 10k road race in 2019.
The only times recorded on the IAAF rankings for this event are those better than 36:40. At the time of writing there are seven athletes who have bettered this target this year … and only one Brit! The rest of the list is made up of athletes from France (1), Italy (2), Japan (2) and Kenya (1).
Congratulations to Grace on becoming the first Wimborne athlete to claim a World No. 1 spot.
