| RUNNER INSTRUCTIONS |
Welcome to the Wimborne 10 race organised by Wimborne Athletic Club – Sunday 15th November, 10:30am
Key information for all runners is provided below. Please take time to review this detail before the race
ADVANCE NUMBER COLLECTION – To give us a bit of practice and to aid you, there’ll be a chance to collect your race number in advance of race day, if you wish. Turn up to https://colehillsportsandsocialclub.co.uk postcode BH21 2QR on Wednesday 11th November between 18:30pm and 20:00pm , and we’ll be there to hand out individual numbers. If you are collecting on behalf of your entire club, bring all their names with you! The remaining number collection will still occur from 8:00am on race day at Pamphill, just head to the green and white striped marquee.
NUMBER SWAPS
If you wish to transfer your number to a new runner then the new runner needs to come to the number collection on Wednesday 11th Nov at Colehill sports and social club between 18:30pm and 20:00pm with old and new runner details. We’ll need a signed letter by the old runner indicating they agree to the swap.
RACE NUMBERS/RACE HEADQUARTERS. If you’ve not already collected it, Your chip timed RACE NUMBER will be allocated and issued from race HQ located in the green and white marquee at Pamphill. Race HQ will be open from 8.00am. If you have entered there will be a number for you to collect. No transfers are possible on the day. In the event of race cancellation, all entries will be automatically rolled over to the following year and no refunds will be issued. CAR PARKING. The main race car park (pay and display) is in the town centre at Westfield Close, BH21 1ES. Parking is also available at QE School, BH21 4DT but please note this car park is locked at 14:00pm There is NO runner parking at QE Leisure Centre or at Pamphill . The Pamphill Dairy car park is solely for their customers and is not for runner parking. If you have disabled spectators, please contact us to access parking closer to the start. From either car park, it is a 15-minute walk to the start – see Course map for details.
CHANGING. There are no changing facilities so please come changed and ready to race. There is also no shelter at the start area so be prepared to wear waterproofs if the weather is bad. Baggage that is clearly marked with your race number may be left at the baggage tent. Bags are left at your own risk but are supervised throughout the race. Toilets and urinals are at the start.
SAFETY. To minimise risk, please note the following:
- Minimum entry age of 18 years
- EA registered athletes are required to wear the registered vest of their first claim club
Disqualification awaits anyone who allows any of the following:
- Pacing by another person not participating in the race
- Accompanying dogs, buggies or cyclists.
- The carrying of a child.
- Wearing of any type of headphone outside those medically prescribed.
- Cut off time is 2hrs 15mins which will be enforced at the first water station. Runners need to reach this water station by 30 minutes or they will be asked to withdraw from the race.
- Race numbers must be worn on the front of your vest (not shorts) and visible at all times to allow chip reading
- Anti Doping: An entrant shall be deemed to have made themselves aware and agree to be bound by the UKA antidoping rules and to submit to the authority of UK antidoping in the application and enforcement of the anti-doping rules. The UKA antidoping rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of athletics for 12 months from their date of entry whether or not the licence holder is a citizen or resident in the UK.
- If unwell, do not start the race.
- If injured or feeling unwell during race, stop at the next marshal location and we will arrange transport back to start area.
- The route is not traffic free and runners do not have priority. Always be prepared to run in single file on the left and step off the road, if necessary, to avoid conflict with drivers.
- LARGE Tractors are active in the area and if encountered, step off the road to avoid injury.
- Please follow the directions of the marshals at all time, particularly at White Mill – our busiest junction.
- Water is available in cups at miles 3, 5 and 7 and at the finish.
- Please drop rubbish close to a race sign or in the bins after the water stations, definitely not in the hedgerow.
- For a county championship race, any rule breaches will be notified to the race director by the race referee and actioned. In other races the race director will act as race referee by default.
FINISH
Finishers will receive a race memento, water and free tea and cake. Additionally, male runners who run Sub 60 minutes & female runners who run Sub 70 minutes will receive a special T shirt. Results will be published immediately on this site.
Prizes
Prizes for 1-3 Male and Female will be issued as those runners cross the line. Age category and team prizes will be posted or hand delivered after the race. There is no prize giving ceremony.
