The second match of the series produced a much stronger team performance and it was rewarded with a third place behind the dominant Swindon and Southampton teams. The Quadkids again performed well with Jasmine Foster following up her County Championships clean sweep with a strong league win here.
The under 13 girls were again in fine form. Lani Moore 11.9 and Tilly Pretty 13.2 tied up the 70 metre hurdles. Lani then went on to claim second place in the 200 metres 28.0 while Tilly showed great technique in winning the discus 19m86 and a B string win in the shot 6m81 just behind A string winner Maisie Robbins 6m85. Lila Richards 4m31 and Laila Baines 3m91 wrapped up both strings of the long jump. Maddie Buchan was second in the javelin with 22m58.
The under 15 girls also made a major contribution. Sophia Deverill 5m01 and Mila Desborough 4m53 also wrapped up their long jump but Mila was faintly disappointed with her winning 39m45 in the javelin when she is often over 40 metres. In the sprints Ava Smith Elliott won the 100 in 11.70 and was second in the 200 metres 27.5 while Rosie Gollings won the 300 metres in 41.7 and the B string 200 in 26.8. Kayla Robbins won the high jump with 1m45 and the shot with 8m19. Isla Valentina Harrison took a second place in the 75 metre hurdles13.2 in her first outing for the club while Olivia Eves 5.08.00 in the 1500 and 11m49 in the discus added useful points with second places in each. Olivia Jones was her dependable self, winning the Under 17 javelin 24m83 and coming second in the discus 23m02 and the shot 8m66.
Elliott Trickey’s 5m81 in the long jump was the highlight of the under 15s programme and he was backed up by Harry Read’s 4m87. Elliot won the 100 in 12.1 and the B string 300 in 40.4. Harley Stanley was a winner in the 200 24.1 and the A string 300 in 39.6. Harry also won the 80 hurdles in 12.8. It was mostly second place for the under 13 boys with Thomas Faulkner 5.07.6 in the 1500, Zak Johnson 3m90 in the long jump and Will McDonald 25m69 in the Javelin. Joshua Dixon won the B string Javelin with 19m91. Zachary Fricker was second in the under 17 200 metres 25.1 and the long jump 5m20.
