This league is for males and female seniors, under-20s and under-17s competing as one age group. It operates in Team Dorset colours and again has matches in the South Central and South West parts of the country. There have been no formal selection criteria and while there are only a handful of guest events there has generally been no problem in finding events for athletes. This league operates on Saturdays. While team managers will contact athletes, the selection information is posted on the Team Dorset website.
This league caters for all age groups from under-13s to Seniors. However, because of the range of age groups it runs an ‘A’ and ‘B’ programme to cover all the events. Each season we have two fixtures with the ‘A’ programme and two with ‘B’. Don’t worry, there will always be an event you can compete in! Check out the league website, or talk to one of the coaches or Team Managers, if you are feeling confused.
We have four matches in the south central part of the country. These include ‘Quadkids’ (sprint, Long jump, howler throw and 600m) for the under-11s and offers most events in the under-13s to under-17s age groups and some for under-20s. This is a good place to start.
We compete in this league as part of Team Dorset, an arrangement that also includes Poole AC, Dorchester AC and Weymouth St Pauls Harriers. Athletes are selected to take part as this offers higher competition. Keep Team Managers aware of your best performances.
